A particularly attractive collector's copy of Enid Blyton's beloved classic, beautifully illustrated throughout by Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone. This sought-after large-format Dean Deluxe Edition is widely regarded as one of the finest illustrated editions of The Enchanted Wood.

When Joe, Beth and Frannie discover the mysterious Enchanted Wood, they encounter Moon-Face, Silky and the magical Faraway Tree, whose ever-changing lands at its summit lead to a succession of extraordinary adventures. One of the best-loved children's fantasy books of the twentieth century, The Enchanted Wood remains the foundation of Blyton's celebrated Faraway Tree series. The book is in Fine condition. Binding remains firm and square, boards are clean and sharp, and the contents are exceptionally bright and fresh. No inscriptions, names, bookplates or other ownership markings. Pages are clean throughout.

The original dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, retaining excellent colour and gloss. Only very minor shelf wear to extremities, with no significant tears, loss or fading. The original publisher's price (£3.75) is present and unclipped.

This edition is particularly sought after by Enid Blyton collectors due to the exceptional Grahame Johnstone artwork, the large-format deluxe production, and its status as the first appearance of this lavishly illustrated Dean edition. Copies surviving in such attractive condition, especially with the original dust jacket intact, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

Often regarded as one of the most visually appealing editions of The Enchanted Wood ever produced, it represents the revival of Blyton's Faraway Tree stories for a new generation of readers during the late 1970s and remains a cornerstone title for collectors of illustrated children's books.

A superb example of this increasingly scarce edition, rarely encountered in such well-preserved condition, especially with its original dust jacket.
